e la prima mail di Linda e Madeleine la ricordo ancora molto bene 2:41
anche perché con precisione molto anglosassone ci annunciavano che di

e poi grazie a loro e e le ringrazio veramente sono state molto amabili

quanto è difficile lavorare per esempio tra noi partner qua in Italia e

e figuriamoci trasferire tutto questo a un livello che è quello europeo 4:19 //

resta il piacere di fare di viaggiare che è sempre una cosa molto bella 4:30 // ma cominciano a succedere altre cose 4:33 //
succede che devi guardare e osservare con occhi completamente diversi 4:39 //
succede che bisogna prestare un'attenzione incredibile a tutto quanto viene raccontato 4:46 // e oltretutto vorresti non perderne mai nemmeno un pezzettino 4:50 //
succede appunto che viene voglia di di imparare le lingue //

we are right next to the cultural heart of our city the Malatestian library 0:37 //

so the fact for me to speak here before an audience made up of friends
colleagues and partners with whom I work day in day out is something

I'm one of those who up until not long ago thought that these European
exchanges were mainly organised journeys abroad to have fun or

but then the ELSA project sprang up 2:19 and we started working on this project of ours 2:23 //
and we also had to sign a transnational cooperation agreement 2:30 //
and that's where I started to get in contact with a Europe of acronyms of new words and new terminology 2:37 something that was quite impressive I must confess 2:42 //
I remember the first letter sent to me by Linda and Madeleine 2:45 // it's really clear in my memory 2:48 because with very Anglo-Saxon precision they informed us that in ten days time they would land in Forlì airport 2:56 //
and I remember that going back home I said in Romagna's dialect to myself // there we go we are in Europe now 3:4 //
and then thanks to them 3:7 well I I'd like to acknowledge them for being so kind to me 3:11
but thanks to them and through them I managed to get in contact with

however without any nostalgia this went on to transnational agreements the first meetings the first journeys abroad 3:33 //
and I must say that it's a quite demanding and challenging task that has to do with languages 3:40 //
and I'm not just referring to the fact that we speak different languages 3:45 //
because after a while one thinks like he would like to speak four or five foreign languages instead of just one 3:51 //
it's not it's also a matter of meaning of understanding each other since we come from such different cultures 3:58 //
and when dealing with social work one of the first things one learns is how difficult it is to work between different partners 4:10
even just in Romagna with different institutions with different inter-
organisational languages different organisational cultures 4:19 //
and just think about transposing all this on a European stage 4:24 //
it becomes even more tangled 4:27 //
and then the time came for exchanges and travels 4:32 //
and of course travelling is always a very pleasant experience 4:37 but some other things started to happen 4:40 //

I whenever I came back home I thought okay this time I'm going to attend a course in English French German whatever 5:9 //
and one starts making comparisons 5:13 //
that's the way things work there //

I've never considered this aspect 5:18 //
so it's a chain of events or rather a domino effect 5:22 //
and of course one gets back home after such international visits with
new spirit new ideas rearing# to go and to do something new 5:33 //
but when you come back home people are envying you for having travelled abroad 5:37 but I think this energy propagates and you manage somehow to start a process 5:43 //
and I'm telling you all this because what lies in the offing is Europe 5:48 //
and even though for us from Cesena it's quite unusual yes also Cesena belongs to Europe 5:55 //
and I think that events like today's meeting are many more important than we envisage and expect 6:5 //
it's a time for discussion 6:8 //
after my paper my presentation we are going to hear from the various
European partners who will present us the various European projects 6:16 //
partners who have found an agreement 6:19 and through their presentations we shall have a chance to get a glimpse of their country 6:25 //
and I'm sure we're going to get some very interesting elements from the various papers 6:33 //
and then in the afternoon we shall have the various workshops 6:36 //
and I'd like to invite you to put your name under the titles of the various workshops 6:42 because then we shall go on to the nitty gritty of the exchanges 6:47 //
it'll tend to be even more difficult 6:48 //
we are going to have interpreters and I think we should acknowledge our
interpreters for making it possible for us to communicate with each
other which is of course very important for us 6:58 //
