innanzitutto il modello che è stato creato qui a Verona sulla fibrosi cistica 0:57 //
modello che diciamo è il frutto innanzitutto di un lavoro che affonda le sue radici in cinquanta anni di attività 1:11 //
cinquanta anni perché nel cinquantasette le prime la prime diagnosi i primi trattamenti della fibrosi cistica a Verona //
quindi una storia lunghissima 1:22 //
su questa storia importante che diciamo ha visto crescere questo centro
facendolo diventare un centro di riferimento a livello nazionale e
internazionale per questa crescita diciamo il padre di questa crescita
è come tutti sappiamo il professor Mastella che voglio ringraziare
perché lui ha diciamo gettato le basi di questa di questa avventura di
questa struttura così così importante 1:58 //
dico così importante non solo per quello che riesce a esprimere dal
punto di vista assistenziale // ma perché con una felice intuizione qui
si è innestata la diciamo la nascita della Fondazione dieci anni fa in

l'intuizione che per far progredire le le cure è necessario che a fianco a un importante modello di assistenza 2:28 //

con particolare attenzione alla formazione degli operatori //

oggi parliamo si parla molto di reti di collaborazione di capacità di creare massa critica anche nella ricerca 3:33 //
bene mi pare che l'impostazione che fu data a suo tempo dalla Fondazione a questo problema è stato proprio questo 3:41 //
cioè porsi il problema di uscire da una occasionalità saltuarietà ancorché preziosa nel campo della ricerca //
ma farne un programma strutturato duraturo nel tempo e che permettesse
a ricercatori non solo di tutta Italia ma di tutto il mondo di potersi
confrontare e di potersi e di poter collaborare tra di loro 4:7 //
a me pare che questo sia il valore prezioso di questa intuizione che
per fortuna non è rimasta un'intuizione ma che è cresciuta in questi

e da questo punto di vista devo dire che alla dedizione e capacità del
professor Mastella si è affiancata la capacità del ragionier Faganelli
motore di questa Fondazione che diciamo è riuscita a affrontare questo
problema della ricerca 4:38 //
che poi non è solo questo ma è anche quello della formazione e della
informazione ma è la il problema della ricerca che mi interessa in modo

ma si è tradotta ed è misurabile oggi nella quantità di progetti che la
fondazione ha sostenuto e che sostiene che sono cresciuti negli anni e

internazionale su quelli che sono i problemi aperti e su quelli che

su concetti che sono oggi attualissimi e che sono oggi spesso evocati
come risposta per sviluppare sia i modelli di assistenza che la ricerca

I'd like to emphasise that those people who are involved in assistance to patients 0:46 // well these opportunities like the one we are living today are very important for two particular reasons 0:54 //
first of all a model was created in Verona concerning cystic fibrosis 0:59 //
such model is the result of activities and work which was started fifty years ago 1:12 //
we've been working for more than fifty years because it was nineteen
fifty-seven that we had the first diagnosis and treatments coming from
Verona's activities 1:23 //
it is a very long history 1:25 //
and on the basis of this important story we could witness the growth of our centre 1:35 // this centre became a reference point at a national and international level 1:42 // and the father of such growth is as we all know Professor Mastella // and I want to thank him 1:50 // I
want to thank him because Professor Mastella was the person who laid
the foundations of such inf- of such structure such basis 1:60 //
and it's so important and I'm saying it's so important because of what
it can express in terms of assistance but also because the creation of
the foundation ten years ago is another extraordinary result //

// the intuition that in order to make progress with treatment it was
necessary to have a good assistance model a good c- model for care and

the assistance model should have been complemented with training of
operators training also of attitudes of people because of all

well I think that the layout that was established by the foundation concerning this issue is really this one //

but what they wanted to do was to have a structured programme a
forward-looking programme giving opportunities to national and
international researchers so that they could meet each other share

I think this is the really precious value of this cooperation of this
intuition which was not just an intuition because it's been growing in

we have accumulated experience and thanks to the view of Professor
Mastella we also had the cooperation of doctor Faganelli who's the

against this background we were able to deal with many problems involved in research and training 4:44 // but it's research I'm particularly concerned // as we managed to make a leap forward in research programmes 4:55 //
so from theory we translated all these things into practice and this is
visible in all the projects supported by the foundations and that have

so this is a ground in which international people can meet and know about the development in research 5:23 //
at that time we were very lucky to have this view to anticipate things 5:36 // we are trying to give answers to assistance and research and I think that we found a very interesting path 5:46 //

and the hospital in Verona is definitely supporting this type of work 5:59 //
according to its resources and its forces we want to continue to go
through this path together with all the people dealing with cystic

I'd like to remind you that in this field there are public institutions
involved like our institution the Foundation but also other subjects 6:28 //
there are different ideas and forces that are being pooled to work altogether and this is a great hope for the future 6:37 //

this problem and that research may allow us to find a solution to this
