The following are some common errors from this group of learners (please, read the transcription to understand the errors in their original context):

-Grammar:

·Lack of agreement between adjective (when used as an attribute) and the noun: los hamburguesas son malísimo.

Similarly, the adverb may be wrongly used as an adjective: (la pizza) no es mal.

·Wrong use of demonstratives: esta pizza, esa (comida).

·Por/para: para un euro.

-Lexis:

·Borrowings (transfer from German): ja.

·Confusion between semantically related words (often due to transfer from German): pintura.

·Wrong lexical errors: miejillones, lechura.

·Gender assignment errors (not always due to interference): el único comida que es barato, un hamburguesa, los hamburguesas, un paella, los cafeterías.

-Pronunciation:

·Consonant and vowel drop due to the rhythm of speech: universidad [ʊnɪβe:si'tat], preparado [papa'ɾədə], porque ['poke].

·Vowel reduction in unstressed syllable: carne ['kʰa:nə], mejillones [mehi'jonəs].

·r → [ʁ] (velar fricative) : rojo ['ʁoxo].

·-r (at the end of syllable) → [ɐ] (sometimes the consonant is also dropped): verde ['be:ɐde], hamburguesas [ambu'ge:sas].

·Tendency to shift the stress to the root of the word, due to transfer from German: pabellón ['pabejon].

·Teachers' criteria or learners' interests may also determine the degree of correction to be applied. E.g. if the learner often has to speak in public, due to professional reasons, he/she will need to acquire a native-like pronunciation. Thus, the following are other pronunciation phenomena that may be considered errors or not:

-Pronunciation of /r/ (multiple vibrant): arroz [a'ɾos].

As well, voiced and voiceless occlusive consonants are often mispronounced: madre ['matre], novio ['nopjo], gambas ['kambas].

Especially, /d/ in final position is often devoiced: universidad [ʊnɪβe:si'tat].

Lastly, occlusives are often aspirated: piso ['pʰiso], con [kʰon], tomate [tʰo'matə].

-Aspirated initial h- ([h]): hamburguesa [hambu'ge:sa].

-/e/ → [ɪ], and/or /i/ → [e]: limón [lɪ'mon].

-Hiatus (lack of synalepha) between adjacent vowels: ha hecho [ʔa 'ʔet​͡​ʃo], y es [ʔi 'ʔes].

-Dental consonants are slightly affricated (at the beginning of word) + i: tiene ['tˢjene].

-At the Discourse level, there are cohesion errors due to confusion of deictic elements (esto/esta, esta/esa): esta pizza, esa (comida).
